A Note From The Winemaker:
The grapes are sourced from the Tupungato region of Mendoza, high in the Andes Mountains, at an elevation of 3,000 to 5,000 feet above sea-level. With its unique microclimate, Tupungato produces fruit with exceptional fruit and structure.

Aromas of minerals and fruit lead into flavors of lime, citrus and peach along with notes of honey and vanilla, all of which is balanced out nicely with toasty oak and a creamy fresh finish.

St Hallett Gamekeeper's Shiraz 2008

TGIF!

With the upcoming weekend we wanted to treat you with our "Wine Of The Week"! This week we are featuring...

St Hallett Gamekeeper's Shiraz 2008

In Stock
Our Price: $10.99

Product Sub Type: Red
Size: 750ML
Vintage: 2008
Country: Australia
Region: Barossa Valley
Appellation: Barossa Valley
Varietal: Shiraz

"Soft, fruit forward, lightly oaked (if at all) and lighter-bodied red wines made for immediate consumption and consumer enjoyment are gaining prominence in Australia. This trend makes perfect sense in places like the Barossa and McLaren Vale, where their abundant sunshine and plentiful plantings of the grenache grape suit the easy drinking, summer red style to a tee.

Brightly scented with stewed plums, blueberries and raspberries, St Hallett's 2008 Gameskeeper's blend also reveals a sweet influence of chocolate and coconut. As anticipated it's a lighter, softer style of Barossa red, with a finish drawn out more by its marked acidity as opposed to penetrating length of fruit or structure. There remains a vivid base of ultra-ripe, sweet/sour edged regional fruits, so it should sit well with those who seek its style.

This is a pleasingly balanced little quaffer which successfully achieves its goals. It suits outdoor dining, with, as the bottle suggests, game, duck, smoked meats and hare. Drink to 2010.

Teatown Cellars Right Bank 2005

Teatown Cellars Right Bank 2005

Are you looking for a dark ruby red wine?
Well look no further!
Teatown Cellars Right Bank 2005 is what you want to try next!
Here is a vivid review of this wine:
On the nose this wine shows candied fruit reminiscent of cherry
cola and not in an unpleasant way at all. Lightly oaked, well integrated, even a touch of cedar, cigar box and tar. On the palate the candied fruit character follows through to cassis flavors with some spiciness, menthol - mint, herbs and underbrush. The additional time in oak gives fully integrated and resolved fruit. Nice minty dark fruit finish with a bit of toasty oak. Elegant and supple, this wine has the finesse and body to stand up to all manner of hearty and robust meals and will pair particularly well with meats whether braised, roasted or grilled.

Product Sub Type: Red
Size: 750ML
Vintage: 2005
Country: United States
Region: California
Appellation: Napa
Varietal: Bordeaux Blend

Five Things You May Not Know About Wine

The cost of wine is not an indicator of quality, there are many factors that have an effect on the price of a wine.

If you’re planning to taste several wines in a row, begin with the light whites and work your way through the full-bodied whites, followed by light reds and then finish with the heavy reds.

Most wines come in under the 130 calorie mark per 6oz. serving.

California accounts for over 90% of total U.S. wine production and approximately two out of every three bottles of wine sold in the United States.

When wine and food are paired together, they have “synergy”, creating a third flavor beyond the food or wine alone. Sphere: Related Content
